Tishna the Auramancer

Updated: Jun 4, 2021

Tishna is the next companion you'll get very early on in the next content drop. She's a unique support, in that she's able to be built to fill a variety of roles and she uses a new type of skill.

First off, she wears medium armor. That means she's able to take a few more hits than someone like Venesh or Pierce, but is squishier than Sarrina and NaN. Similar to Mira and Sarrina, she's a balanced stat character where she doesn't favor attack or magic attack. She's able to use every weapon type in the game other than Bows and Claws, letting you put various different weapons on her to fill a variety of rolls, and can use a Focus or Grimoire in her offhand. This lets you use her as a pure support, using her healing aura and her companion quest weapon for it's guard unleash for extra healing, a more active support, using her other aura skills to buff the party while using one of the various crafted weapons for more damage, or something in-between.

Her skills are different than other characters. She uses the new skill type, Aura. These are "set and forget" skills where you activate whichever Aura you want and it's active until the battle ends or you choose to swap to a different Aura. Auras also have no cost or cooldown. Only one Aura can be active at a time so to get the most use out of her you should be swapping Auras based on the needs of the party.

When she joins the party she comes with 5 Auras.

- Vah, an HP regen aura that grants all allies 12% HP regen per turn. This, when stacked with the HP regen most characters get on their companion quest accessory, or on other accessories, can grant a decent chunk of healing per turn. Combine that with her companion quest weapon, which heals 10% HP, MP, and restores 15 SP when she guards, for even more healing. While she's not good at healing spike damage like NaN or Pierce is, she's far better at healing through most combat where there's low but consistent damage.

- Koh, an MP regen aura that grants all allies 10% MP regen per turn. While most casters get enough MP regen on their companion quest accessory to cover their needs, there are situations where you might want to use a different accessory for some reason. In those cases this can help those casters keep their MP topped off.

- Dra, an Attack and Magic Attack buff. This gives the same damage buff that a double stacked Attack and Magic Attack buff from other sources would give.

- Joh, a Defense and Magic Defense buff. Similar to Dra, this gives a buff equivalent to what

a double stacked Defense and Magic Defense buff would give.

- Uun, an Agility and SP regen buff. This grants a buff equivalent to what a double stacked Agility buff would give and grants 20% SP regen per turn.

Finishing Tishna's companion quest will grant her an additional Aura.

- Oth, a condition cleanse and protection Aura. This protects against Poison, Toxin, Blind, Rage, Confusion, Seduced, Sleep, Burn, Paralyze, Bleed, Slow, Doubt, and Terrify. Thematically it's designed to help your body shrug off conditions that it would otherwise slowly recover from on it's own. Things like Freeze and Stun aren't included as those are things done to you that your body can't heal or shrug off on it's own.

There is also a final Aura that can be learned from equipping a special item.

Depending on how you build her she can be a powerful addition to your party. You can use her as a main support similar to NaN, where she doesn't do much upfront damage but can heal quite easily and clear incoming conditions from the party. You can use her as a hybrid support, running her alongside someone like Pierce for her Attack Aura or Defense Aura and using a crafted weapon to apply Burn or Harsh Chill in addition to basic attack damage or something like the Warp Blade for scaling turn damage. (Or one of the challenge boss weapons for their effect) Or you can run her as something in-between both, dancing between all her Auras to mitigate anything that comes at the party. There are plenty of ways to equip and slot her into most party compositions so hopefully you can find a composition where she fits for your group.
