Kushiel the Warden

The storyline companion for the next release. Kushiel is a tank and plays a little differently than the others.

Unlike the other tanks, Kushiel's skills cost mana instead of stamina. This let's him always have access to all of his attacks, provided they aren't on cooldown, so you get a different flow during battle instead of the build/spend other tanks have. He uses the new weapon type, Greatsword. Greatsword's are a two handed weapon with the stats of both a mainhand sword and offhand shield. You're able to equip other weapons and offhand's to him, but these are what he was designed around using. Here's a rundown of his skills so you can get an idea of what team he'd fit best into.

Passive - Resilience. Half of all incoming damage is prevented and instead added to a DoT effect. This DoT lasts 5 turns, refreshed every time more damage is added, and has no upper limit on how much damage can be stored and dealt back to Kushiel. The effect is reset and all damage erased upon end of battle or use of Iron Will.

Blinding Slash - Costs 15 MP, 0 cooldown. Deal low damage to one enemy with a 25% chance to Blind the target.

Challenge Foes - Costs 25 MP, 9 turn cooldown. Taunts all foes.

Chains of Penance - Costs 55 MP, 4 turn cooldown. Deals moderate damage to all foes with an 80% chance of paralyzing each enemy.

Feigning Strike - Costs 45 MP, 0 cooldown. Deals low damage and lowers the defense and magic defense of the target by 1 level. (Max of two levels like all basic nerfs/buffs) Has a 35% chance to stun the target.

Power of the Ancients - Costs 30 MP, 7 turn cooldown. Increases Kushiel's defense and magic defense by 2 levels for 5 turns.

Blade of Justice - Costs 80 MP, 9 turn cooldown. Deals heavy damage and stuns the foe

Iron Will - Costs 25% max MP, 20 turn cooldown. (Cooldown does not reset after battle like other skills) Recover 15% max health and resets the DoT effect of his passive to 0 damage.

While managing his passive does take a bit of getting used to, it allows for him to go for a bit longer than other characters without needing direct healing. That makes running someone like Sarrina, Venesh, or Pierce for extra damage or status effects, instead of needing to focus on nothing but healing with someone like NaN, a bit more of a viable option compared to running Claude and taking constant full damage.
